TV SHOWS THAT A PINOY LAW STUDENT MUST WATCH

This post is not about the Legal Dramas shown in the US nor about the telenovelas, koreanovelas, fantaserye or what have you.

This post is about shows which offer free legal advice to its viewers/listeners.

The following TV shows are very informative and it supplements the things a law student reads and learns in law school.

More importantly, the following TV shows discussions the law in its simplest form in order for the common to understand.

TV Station: TV5 simultaneous broadcast via 92.3 NewsFM

This show answers legal problems sent by listeners and viewers a-like.
Most of the topics talk about in this show are about the subject "Persons and Family Relations". Dean Sta. Maria is an authority with the aforementioned subject because he is the author of the popular law book of the same name.

An added bonus of the show is the "legal word of the day" which discusses some legal terms. You'll never know, the words discussed may help you in your recitation someday. It is always


LEGAL HELP DESK

Hosted by: Atty. Karen Jimeno and Atty. Rod Nepomuceno
Time: Tuesday 9:30 P.M
TV Station: CNN Philippines

The tagline of this show is "Making the law work for you"

Most of the time, they will talk about a legal issue which is a hot topic in the headlines.
The show would also have guests who are experts in the topic at hand. The timeslot of this show might not sit well with law students because most of the time, classes are held at night.

LEGAL FORUM

TV Station: GMA News TV

The show has the shortest airtime among the three. But it is the longest running show which offers free legal advice.

Even with a short time, the show also have guests which are experts in the topic at-hand. The time also suits Law Students who are burning the midnight oil in the wee hours of the morning.
