Last November 15, 2015, I woke up because of so much pain. Even only getting barely 2 hours of sleep because I attended our BAR operations, I couldn't get back to sleep. I was experiencing problems urinating. I get the sensation or urge to pee but when I get to the bathroom, I would only pee a very miniscule amount.
I asked Grace to accompany me to MegaClinic located at Megamall to seek medical attention. Being the ever dependable girlfriend she is, she obliged.
Fast-forward, I got the needed prescription to ease the pain. I had temporary relief after taking the meds.
I thought my pain will slowly go away. Boy I was wrong. so wrong.
I woke up 12 midnight experiencing the same pain, and I never get to sleep since. My girlfriend decided that I should go to the hospital as soon as possible. (Good call)
Fast-forward again, it was my FIRST time to be admitted to a hospital and take seemingly endless tests just to check my condition namely, my urine, blood, sugar level, skin test. I even had an ultra-sound for crying out loud! haha
I had numerous "cables" attached all over my body. It caused so much discomfort but at least the pain that I was experiencing went from as high as 10 (painful AF) to as low as 2. yay for small victories
My mom went to visit me as soon as she knew my condition. She arrived at 7 pm. She and Grace were my companions during my entire stay at the hospital.
After spending a few days in the hospital, I realized that I am not getting any younger. My false sense of mantle of invincibility has evaporated. I realized that I am now vulnerable to more diseases as I grow older. I now feel the aches and pains that I haven't felt when I was a teenager. I need to be wiser in terms of my diet and how to take care of my body.
In other words, I should lessen my alcohol consumption. Granted that I only consume alcohol occasionally. But each time I have my alcohol intake, it will be at least a a bucket of either San Mig Light or Red Horse (my favorite!) to as many as equivalent to 1 tower. What can I say, brotha gotta drink! haha
My doctors told me that my medication will last from 2 weeks to 1 month. I was told that I should take a rest for 2 weeks. Basically, I would miss almost the first 2 weeks of the semester which is a bummer because I would also miss the last 2 weeks of BAR operations.
My body weight went down to as low as my weight when I haven't entered law school. It should be a good thing but trust me it is not because I feel so weak. I am planning to reduce my weight but not like this. I rather be fit than slim.
At least right now, I am in a more stable situation and I am feeling a lot better.
Anyway, the goal is for me to return to school on December 4 to get back to the law school grind. Unless, my doctor would advise me to take another extra days-off. I hope not! because I am itching to play basketball already.
